Arched heads, radius tops, oversized fixed glass and French pairs are fabricated for one opening in one house. They set the finish date, and on a seasonal property the finish date is the whole negotiation.
Tell us the address and whether the house is occupied year round. On this coast the second answer changes the recommendation more than the first.

A full-time resident can live around a slipping date. An owner who flies in for three weeks in March cannot, and a made-to-order arch is the single most likely thing to break that plan. The failure is not usually a bad fabricator — it is that the specialty units were surveyed last and ordered last, so they arrived after the owner had already flown home and the house went back to being empty with a hole in the front elevation.
How we protect a short visit
- Survey the specialty openings on the first visit, not the second.
- Get the long-lead order placed before anything simple is touched.
- Confirm the fabricator date in writing before you book flights.
- Fit the straightforward openings while the shaped units are in production.
- Agree who lets us in if the last delivery lands after you have gone.
Why there are so many of these here
A great deal of the residential building along this coast, and much of what was rebuilt after 2004, leans on arched heads, radius transoms and grouped French pairs onto a terrace or a dock. It is a defining feature of how the houses read.
That has a direct cost consequence. A house whose character sits in its openings cannot simply have those openings swapped for the nearest rectangle, and the shaped units are also the ones with the least tolerance for a fast measurement.

We settle the specialty openings at survey rather than treating them as a detail, because they are the item that decides whether the job fits your calendar. If the arches will not arrive inside your window, that is a conversation to have before a deposit rather than an apology in month three.

Not every existing shape can be matched in an approved unit at a price that makes sense. When that happens you are choosing between squaring the opening off, which changes how the elevation reads, and paying considerably more for a true custom fabrication. Both are real answers and we will put the cost of each in front of you rather than picking for you.

Common questions
- Can you finish inside a three-week visit?
- Sometimes, and only if the shaped units were ordered well before you arrived. If you are planning around a visit, the useful call is months ahead of it rather than the week you land.
- Can any arch be matched?
- Most shapes can be matched, at a price and a wait. True ellipses, unusual radii and very large fixed arches are where the cost climbs steeply, and we would rather price the real thing than quote a rectangle and mention the change later.
- What if the last units arrive after I fly home?
- That is workable and common here. It needs an access arrangement and a named contact agreed in advance, which we set up at survey rather than improvising at the end.
