About
A Fort Lauderdale Contractor Working the Treasure Coast
Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor based in Fort Lauderdale. We work up this coast in scheduled blocks, and we are straightforward about what that does and does not mean.
Tell us the address and whether the house is occupied year round. On this coast the second answer changes the recommendation more than the first.

We ask about the house before we talk about the window
The first question on this coast is not budget or brand. It is whether anybody will be at the property during hurricane season, because that decides whether shutters are a real alternative or a theoretical one.
We do not fit shutters. That means when we tell a full-time resident on a tight budget that shutters across every opening may serve them better than glass across half the house, we are talking ourselves out of work. We would still rather say it.
We install with our own crews
Most of this trade sells the job and subcontracts installation to whoever has capacity that week. We do not. Everybody who touches your building is on our payroll, from the survey through to the paint line.
On a seasonal property that matters more than usual, because the owner is frequently not there to chase three separate trades. The returns, the casing and the making good are ours.
We are honest about the distance
The Treasure Coast is a real drive from Fort Lauderdale. We work it in planned blocks rather than day trips, which is why we can be worth booking in advance and are no use at all in an emergency.
We will not quote you a start date we do not expect to keep. Ask us for one and you will get a real answer, including when the real answer is a month out.
Licensed, and specific about it
Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor. We do not publish claims about certifications we do not hold, and we are not a manufacturer or a dealer for any single brand.
Not being tied to one product line means we specify whatever holds the right number at the right size for your opening, which on a mixed elevation often means more than one product.
Next step
Find out what is actually wrong with it.
An inspection, photographs of what we found, and a written scope. If the honest answer is that it can wait another season, that is the answer you will get.
